The General Manager of Ports and Terminals of Bolloré Africa Logistics, Olivier De Noray, signed on February 15, 2023 with the Autonomous Port of Kribi and other private partners, a memorandum of understanding for the development of an integrated industrial zone in the seaside town of Kribi. The memorandum signed by Bolloré Africa Logistics alongside China Harbour Engineering Co (CHEC), International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI) and the Tangier Mediterranean Special Agency (TMSA) creates a framework for cooperation on the structuring, particularly from a technical, legal and financial point of view, of the project to develop an integrated industrial zone at the Port of Kribi, with a view to its joint implementation.
"The memorandum of understanding we are signing will enable us to carry out a feasibility study of the integrated industrial zone which is part of the priority projects promoted by the Head of State H.E. Mr Paul BIYA. We are pleased that leading partners have trusted the PAK to pave the way for buildings (business center, warehouses, etc.), and road networks, telecommunications, water, electricity, lighting, sanitation ... " said Patrice Melom, General Manager of the Autonomous Port of Kribi.
This integrated industrial zone will enable the development of several processing industries in Kribi (cocoa-coffee, wood, cotton, oil palm, rubber, cement, steel, etc.) backed by reference logistics solutions. This ecosystem will boost the economic development of Cameroon and the Central African sub-region.
"Bolloré Africa Logistics, backed by its new shareholder MSC, is proud to participate in the development efforts of the Kribi industrial port complex. Kribi Containers Terminal, in which Bolloré Africa Logistics is a shareholder, is recording a dynamic growth in import and export volumes. We have also invested in the first logistics hub in Kribi, which opened last year, as well as in a multipurpose platform in Kribi (wood, miscellaneous)," said Olivier De Noray, General Manager of Ports and Terminals.
