Schools Partnership: Students on the Benin Terminal docks

Benin. 20 August 2019

From August 6-to 10, Benin Terminal, subsidiary of Bollore Ports, welcomed 120 students of the École Nationale d’Économie Appliquée et de Management (Eneam) within the framework of school-company partnership.

The container terminal of Cotonou in Benin has been transformed for a week into an experimental space for the students of the École Nationale d’Économie Appliquée et de Management (Eneam) of Benin. Philippe Alexandre, CEO of Benin Terminal, and his management team, presented them the missions, activities and challenges that a container terminal has in the logistics chain.

Equipment, workshops, operations departments and the central security station were shown to these students who discovered the company whose economic vocation is essential for the country's economy. The students were able to realize that many investments made by Benin Terminal have increased its capacity to the level of the best international standards and to record several productivity performances.

For Guy Médard Alapini, Head of the National cooperation and Professional Integration Department of Eneam

This week's visit to Benin Terminal is helping to build the capacity of our students, who can have exclusive access to specialists in the field. The internship and employment opportunities offered by Benin Terminal to our students reinforce the quality of the lessons we offer. We are proud of this partnership.

Benin Terminal, a major player in Benin's logistics chain, which has 546m of quay with a draft of -15m and a container yard, has been involved in a partnership with Eneam since July 2017. The Bollore Ports subsidiary contributes to making the Port of Cotonou, a main actor of the country's economic development and a logistics hub for Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso and Nigeria.
