KCT launched processing operations for the world’s leading ship owner on 2 August 2019. The inaugural Maersk ship, Newport, measuring 210 metres long, and having departed from Durban in South Africa, called at the Port of Kribi before heading on to Pointe-Noire in Congo.
The arrival of Maersk vessels confirms the deep-water port’s status as a leading logistics platform in Africa, already visited by the ship owners CMA-CGM, MARGUISA and Nile Dutch.
Through the quality of its infrastructure, the technical expertise of its teams and the administrative ecosystem, Kribi Conteneurs Terminal provides the supply chain with a modern port platform adapted to the new generation of transoceanic ships.
A key entry point for imports and exports from and to Cameroon, Chad and the Central African Republic, KCT has reported 233 stopovers since launch in March 2018, handling some 207,000 containers. KCT is set to facilitate growth in regional trade and step up the economic growth of Cameroon and the region as a whole.
