Abidjan Terminal welcomes the largest container vessel in its history

Abidjan. 11 June 2019

On 31 May 2019, MSC DYMPHNA has become the largest vessel in terms of capacity to ever call Abidjan Terminal.

This 275m long vessel, with a capacity of 5,411 containers, has reached the waterfront of Abidjan Terminal, in presence of Asta-Rosa Cissé, Managing Director of Abidjan Terminal, Fabio Politi Managing Director of MSC Côte d’Ivoire, Hien SIe, Managing Director of Abidjan Port authority, and Pierre Bellerose, Regional Managing Director of Bolloré Transport& Logisitcs Côte d’Ivoire.

Welcoming the vessel was made possible thanks to Vridi Channel expansion and dredging works completed last February. These modernization works, borne by the port authorities, will strengthen the competitiveness of the port of Abidjan.

Receiving and handling MSC Dymphna is a good illustration of the Port of Abidjan dynamics of modernization, to which Abidjan Terminal, a subsidiary of Bolloré Ports, fully suscribes.

The company is committed to support the increasing vessel capacity by offering competitive handling performance to the highest international standards.
On this occasion, a commemorative plaque was presented by the Director General of Abidjan Terminal to Captain Abbas Manzar, Commander of MSC Dymphna.
